“I needed a dress to be altered less than two weeks before a wedding and I’m so glad I came across Haila! Hailey took great care of me; making sure my dress was ready earlier than expected, and she took the time to let me try on beautiful jewelry that matched perfectly with my dress and vibe. Please make sure to go support Hailey & her Mom, Rebecca, at Haila!”

Common Questions
-
We highly recommend making an appointment for alterations. Appointments allow us to set aside time for your fitting and give each client our full attention without feeling rushed.
Walk-ins may be accommodated when our schedule allows, but clients with appointments are prioritized. For formalwear, multiple garments, or more involved fittings, we especially recommend scheduling ahead.
-
Because every garment is constructed differently, we do not provide alteration quotes without seeing the garment in person. Fabric, lining, detailing, construction and the amount of work required can all determine the alteration.
Once we see the garment and understand the fit you're looking for, we'll assess the work and provide your price before moving forward.
-
Turnaround time depends on the garment, the work required and our current atelier schedule. We'll provide an expected completion date once we've assessed your garment.
If you're working toward a wedding, trip, event or other specific date, please let us know during your fitting so we can confirm what may be possible.
-
We work on a wide range of women's and men's clothing, including dresses, skirts, trousers, denim, blouses, shirts, jackets, blazers, suits, formalwear and everyday wardrobe pieces.
Every garment is different, so if you're unsure whether we can work on something, you're welcome to bring it into the atelier for us to take a look.
-
Yes. Formal dresses and gowns are steamed as part of our finishing process before pickup. Men's tailored jackets and trousers are also pressed and steamed as appropriate so your garments are presented neatly when they're returned to you.
Please note that Haila is not a dry cleaner, and steaming or pressing as part of our alteration service is not a substitute for professional garment cleaning.
-

-
Please bring the garment you'd like altered along with anything that may affect its fit. For hems, bring the shoes you plan to wear. For dresses and formalwear, we recommend bringing the undergarments or shapewear you intend to wear when relevant.
Most importantly, come prepared to tell us how you'd like the garment to fit and feel. We'll guide you through the rest.
-
Yes. We offer men's alterations and tailoring for trousers, dress shirts, jackets, blazers, suits and other wardrobe pieces.
Whether you're refining the fit of an everyday trouser or preparing a suit for an occasion, we'll assess the garment in person and recommend the alterations needed for a more considered fit.
-
We offer a range of garment repairs, including seams, zippers, buttons, lining, patches and other adjustments. The appropriate repair depends on the garment's condition and construction, so we recommend bringing the piece into the atelier for us to take a look.
If you're unsure whether something can be repaired, bring it in. We'll let you know what may be possible.
-
Alteration pricing is based on the garment's construction and the work required to achieve the desired result. Fabric, lining, detailing, access to the area being altered, handwork and the complexity of the adjustment can all affect the amount of work involved.
We assess each garment individually and provide your price after seeing the piece in person.
-
For alterations that affect fit, we generally need you to try the garment on so we can properly assess and pin the adjustments needed.
Some straightforward repairs may not require a fitting. If you're unsure, please contact us before your visit and we'll let you know what is needed.
